Articles

Definite articles:

a Noun is a person, place or thing.
The definite article in English
The = El for single masculine and los for pleural masculine
The = La for a single feminine and las for pleural feminine.

To know which one to use is simple in large part:
a single masculine will end by the letter O
a pleural masculine will end by Os
a single feminine will end by the letter A
a pleural feminine will end by the letter As
Thus a the friend in Hispanic has these possibilities
El amigo
La amiga
Los amigos
Las amigas
Many masculine nouns do not end in O and thus need to be known example: el animal, el doctor, el hospital, el hotel.
Some masculine noun ends in a or ma as: el dia, el drama, el clima.

Besides that nouns that end in cion, sion, dad, tad or tud are feminine and take La as an article.
Few nouns that end in O are feminine as la foto, la mano, la radio
Many feminine nouns do not end in A or the above endings and need to be known, examples are la clase, la luz, la mujer.

If a noun ends in a vowel s is added to make the pleural form, if it ens on a constant es added to make the pleural forms:
El dia -----los dias
El animal ---los animales
La persona ----las personas
La leccion---las lecciones

Indefinite article
un = a or an in English for a masculine single
una = a or an for a feminine single
unos for masculine pleural
unas for feminine pleural

Adjectives:
an adjective is a word that describes noun.
Unlike in English, the adjective follow the noun that it describes:
el libro blanco = the white book
The adjective follow the noun that it describes:
la casa blanca = the white house.
Some adjectives do not end by o have same form that describe both masculine and feminine
el tren gris, la mesa gris.
